We're not just making an old building new.

We're joining Jesus in His mission to see old lives made new.

LIFE CHANGE IS THE WHY BEHIND WHAT WE DO!

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. the old is gone and the new is here!

What is Project Old Made New?

We believe God is calling us to use an old building to breathe new life into the city of Pearl, Mississippi.

Project Old Made New will:
  • More than triple the space we currently have.
  • Save tens of thousands of dollars each year by eliminating rent expenses.
  • Allow us to provide higher-quality children and student environments & ministries.
  • Meet additional needs in our community that our current space does not allow.
  • Give us more room to invite our family, friends, and community to be a part of what God is doing through The Exchange.
Through this relocation and restoration of 30,000+ square feet of shopping center space, The Exchange and kingdom-minded ministry partners will meet the physical and spiritual needs of the community we’ve been called to love and serve.

IN OUR CITY FOR OUR CITY.

WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE FOR THE CHURCH TO HAVE SUCH AN IMPACT THAT THE CITY WOULD MOURN IF THE CHURCH WERE TO LEAVE?

The Exchange Story

In 2011, 7 people gathered in a living room to begin a conversation about a calling from God to launch a new, life-giving church in the city of Pearl, MS. Over the next year, God began to grow a team that began serving the city of Pearl and planning the launch of this new church family.

In August 2012, the vision became a reality as The Exchange held its first Sunday gathering with 123 people in attendance.

In 2013, after 7 months of renovations, God provided The Exchange a permanent home in Bright Shopping Center completely debt-free. This building has been the hub for serving our city, welcoming all kinds of people, and best of all, seeing hundreds of people exchange their old life for new life only found in Jesus!

Because of the growth, by 2017, The Exchange was hosting 3 Sunday gatherings just to make room for the people God was joining with our family and we needed more space to continue to welcome people.

After 4 years of searching and praying, God provided a bigger space and another opportunity to turn an old eye-sore of a building into something new and beautiful to continue to love and serve our city and the surrounding area.

The Exchange was able to purchase the space in the old Rankin Square shopping center debt-free, and now we get to watch God provide through our church family and ministry partners as we build out the inside through Project Old Made New.

FAQS

Why do we need a new building?

In the spring of 2017, The Exchange made the decision to move to 3 Sunday gatherings in our current space just to make room for the people God was joining with our family and we knew we needed more space to continue to welcome and reach more people. Fast-forward 5 years and through a global pandemic, and we are on the cusp of needing to make the decision of 3 Sunday gatherings again to accommodate the numerical growth we are seeing. The acquisition of this new space allows us to more than triple the space we currently have, save funds we currently spend on rent, provide higher-quality environments for children and students, meet needs in our community our current space doesn’t allow, and gives us more room to continue the mission of the house to see people exchange their old life for new life in Christ and live out their purpose.

When will we be able to move into our new space?

Our goal is to occupy a functional space that meets the needs we have on a weekly basis at the time we make the move from Bierdeman Rd to HWY 80. We want to do it in a timeframe that is wise and maintains the physical and spiritual health of our spiritual family in the process.

With supply chain issues impacting the construction world and demand outweighing current supply, timelines are difficult to determine. We plan to be in as soon as possible while operating as wisely as possible financially.

Can we have a work day?

Because of insurance and liabilities, and because the site is considered an active construction zone, we are unable to do what you might consider a conventional-style work day.

However, we are working with our general contractor to provide creative ways for our church family to be an active, tangible part of the process. We hope to be able to provide opportunities along the way for people to provide their gifts and services in making our future space a reality.

How can I help?

Pray: Believe with us that God will continue to change lives, and ask God what He would have you do as a project partner.

Give: Give obediently as God invites you to trust Him in faith with your finances. It will be the generosity of partners like you, in gifts big and small, that allow this vision to become a reality.

Serve: Serve faithfully NOW as an Exchange doorholder to help love and serve the people God is ALREADY connecting us with right now.

What's happening now on the construction side?

We are working with our architect to update our plans, and we are preparing to move forward with a contractor to begin the interior renovations as soon as possible. While we don’t have a projected completion date just yet, we celebrate that we are moving forward!

Do we have a projected move in date?

While we don’t have a projected completion date just yet, we celebrate that we are moving forward! Construction is still very expensive, and we are still unsure of exactly how much of our buildout we will be able to finish, but we are highly confident that through God's provision through His people we will get into our new space with room to grow!

Is the giving to Project Old Made New over?

While we believe God's miraculous gifts to us will move us towards the renovation of our new space, we will still be working to furnish the new space with furniture and equipment. If you have given above and beyond to Project Old Made New over the last 2 years, and you still feel led to give that same amount or a portion of that amount, whatever you give will help furnish the space we are working toward.

A HOUSE FOR ALL WITH HOPE FOR ALL.

GET LIFE.
GIVE LIFE.

What's Next?

As we prepare for what’s next, join us in doing 3 things:

be PATIENT

This provision of more space and the funds to build it has come after years of prayers and obedience and months of negotiating and waiting. It has been a process, and we are still in a process! Let’s continue to be patient together as our leadership works with architects and contractors over the coming months to map out the next steps in this journey.

Be Prayerful

God has answered years of prayers, but that doesn’t mean we stop praying now! Let’s join together in praying prayers of praise and thanksgiving for God’s provision. Also pray asking God how does He want you to be a part of sacrificially trusting Him in the season ahead. Finally, pray with us believing that God will continue to change lives!

Be A Part

We can’t be a part of what’s next if we aren’t being obedient right now! The biggest way for you to be a part right now is to be obedient with whatever God calls you to. Our desire is to continue to be a spiritual family who is obedient in serving, giving, making disciples, praying, inviting, and loving right now, so that we will continue to see God move us to what’s next.

Give

Give obediently as God invites you to trust Him in faith with your finances.
It will be the generosity of partners like you that allow this vision to become a reality.

Serve

Serve faithfully as an Exchange doorholder to help love and serve the people God is connecting us with right now.
